Microsoft Joins Student Developer Pack and Some Other GitHub Education News

Continuing the previous post . Visual Studio Community 2013 and the rest of the products in Dreamspark are available to students as part of the Student Developer Pack . In addition, hackpledd.org offers an hour of help, and GitHub wants to listen to the teachers. Details under the cut.

The osmotic bag became heavier

GitHub made the first addition to the Student Developer Pack since launch: Microsoft DreamSpark with Visual Studio. You can already download Visual Studio and register to access the Microsoft program for student-developers - DreamSpark.

With DreamSpark, students gain access to a wide range of Microsoft products, including software, the ability to publish applications and games for Windows and Xbox with Windows with a developer account in the store, and e-learning materials. All for free, which can not but rejoice.

We want to hear from teachers

GitHub “would be glad to hear all the ways GitHub can be used in education” and are campaigning to take part in the FIRST Robotics Competition , which can be attended by teams of students who are led by the University of California at Berkeley in computer science and open source researchers, create their first robot. The goal of the competition is to interest students in science and technology.

In addition, GitHub asks teachers to describe how GitHub is used in their professional activities. They write to write here .
