Back to the desk

Like any modern person, I periodically ask myself questions about the level of my development. Moreover, development in all its manifestations. An incredible number of topics have already been traveled in this area, but still I would like to make my five cents.

    Is there a problem?

After all the default methods that many people write about and use (for example, “How to Continually Improve Your Skills” ), the question arose about more active teaching methods, and at the same time more conservative ones. There are more than enough offers on the IT education market, yes, and unfortunately, on the “market”. According to reviews on the network, it is unrealistic to make a correct conclusion about quality, especially for me, working in the field of IT as close as possible, but with an education different from what is needed. Therefore, without further ado, one of the most affordable ones was tested: books, in all their manifestations and with a lot of buns in the form of gift disks, no matter how funny it sounds now; recording courses, webinars, forums, going to regular classes at training centers.

    Some impressions

Of course, everyone can say that without practice, no study will help you, but still in the presence of a huge amount of it, the concept of processes at the level of intuition does not always save. Not surprisingly, in a relatively short period of time, a huge pile of literature and instructional videos appeared, because our industry is very difficult to call non-dynamic. And some of the materials presented on the shelves of online stores, shops, torrent trackers in English, native great and powerful, are worthy of attention, even the industry guru, it seems to me. If you want names, surnames, addresses, then there are already enough “holivars”.

Regarding the notes, here if you do not want to pay, you will have to be content with just something "moldy", as the copyright holder is watching. Enthusiasts leading high-quality channels on the side pipe are sorely lacking.

In connection with all the familiar problem - lack of time, I decided to try webinars. The difference between the record and the real seemed huge, although the stereotypes of "classical engineering" (soviet) education still make it a little difficult to perceive what is happening at the proper level. Of the advantages: all the advantages of a webinar, the attitude of teachers to the learning process is qualitatively higher, a clear practical orientation, the ability to delve into the subtleties without departing from the topic and without spending a lot of time, the teacher’s interest in your development, I don’t know why, maybe they are all marketing washed, the lack of a stupid appearance when asking stupid questions, the ability to hone everything that I learned on a remote virtual hardware without leaving the cash desk and I have no doubt that everyone will see a lot more advantages for themselves. From the negative - periodic problems with Azure services.

A real trip to the training center is not that not impressed, but rather distracted. There were many more technical problems than at the webinar, I didn’t recognize anything more than the announced program of the course, or maybe less, the teacher’s attitude is neice, and there are a lot of other problems. Regarding the pros - cookies and smiling staff. Center "specialist" in terms of MS direction disappointed.

    Instead of a conclusion

Zen is far from comprehension, there is no limit to perfection, and all of the above, of course - IMHO, but still.
