Nokia Lumia 630 Dual Sim tested on itself

I have long craved to touch windows phone 8, however, the number of SIM cards in such devices was equal to one, and for work it required a minimum of two slots. I walked with a red (this is important) Philips Xenium 732 and was glad that I had a 40% charge at the end of the day. And here is the announcement of WP8.1 with support for two SIM cards. Drooling at the reviews and, along the way, scooping up happiness from my pants, I started to wait.

And a month ago this miracle appeared on sale on the n-store and I, in awe, pressed the “place an order” button (I think it doesn’t matter that the n-store doesn’t deliver to our outback and I ordered through other ways). A few days later I came to the store at the place of delivery and ...

    Appearance, equipment and convenience

I will start, perhaps, with the fact that in addition to the color back panel, there is classic black. Unfortunately, red does not happen (I said it was important), so I took the closest one - orange.

Tip one - glue the film right away

Before I could get it out of the box, terribly clear fingerprints appeared on the screen. Immediately and a lot. So much that there was a desire to put it back, hide your hands behind your back and shout with an impudent look, "it's not me!". Of the elements: on the rear panel there is a discreet inscription “nokia”, a small black nickel in the camera and a hole for the speaker in the lower corner with a rod (the speaker itself is several times larger in area); on the front: a protective glass, also dimmed “nokia”, a small speaker and a microphone (yes, program buttons); top - jack 3,5; bottom - usb; on the right is the power button and volume rocker. Convenient button travel and layout - all under the thumb and in easy access. The device looks stylish in appearance, the buttons do not stand out, there is nothing superfluous on the front panel, the sides of the screen do not protrude - in general, handsome.

Tip two - do you have microUSB-B?

The equipment is scarce and terribly poor - a telephone, a battery, two covers, a charger (solid, not an adapter), and waste paper. No headphones, no cable. You should attach the photos of the components separately, but ... There should be a reservation: it has an excellent function - screenshots “out of the box” (by pressing the power button and volume up key), which means there will be a sufficient number of them in the article, but I warned about this.

    Hardware Convenience

There is only one personal impression: super! A loud and pleasant sound, light, moderately thin, does not creak, does not play, it lies perfectly in the hand, the accessibility of buttons and a bright socket (as I was told by the fair sex - the orange trend of this summer) Charging lasts for 2 days (even longer than Xenium'a - although this is more likely a software merit). However, “super” is not “perfect”: there is no flash, front camera and light sensor. A flash is a real minus, the front camera is a moot point for me: the ability and inability to answer video calls are equally useful, the light sensor - in direct sunlight, you have to manually switch to maximum brightness. The lack of a proximity sensor is not felt, thanks to the cool solution to take into account the touch at the top of the screen with your ear - there was never a misfire.

Axis or "may not begin holivar"

Let's start with the good. I must make a reservation right away that the idea of living tiles is pleasant and convenient for me, for this right away:

Yes, do not be afraid to put an additional row for the tiles - everything is perfectly visible.

Простите за столь огромный скрин, дальше все будет значительно мельче и обзорнее.

Let's go over the main "jambs" of the OS. Perhaps I’ll start with the lack of a desktop and poke my finger in the picture above and exclaim “Yes, here it is!” It fully combines a convenient menu and several desktops with widgets. On Android, I did about the same thing: instead of going into the menu, I had one or even two screens of pure shortcuts; in most cases, informative widgets took up more space than now (example: weather widget); layout widgets and shortcuts was less convenient; everything was “motley”, while now everything is in even rectangles (and squares, as a special case of a rectangle).

Now about the sheets of the menu - remember the beloved by many the function "hide programs from the menu." Plus, as I said, it is completely replaced by the initial screen. And yes, in the menu you can see not only the inscription “new”, but also the installation status: progress bar or position in the queue.
Settings, by the way, are no worse. than in the same bare Android, the only ones are weakly grouped, but after the first couple of hundred times the settings almost completely disappear.

Now about the personal "chips" of this OS. More precisely about one and not because she is alone, but because she is really cool: full-fledged RDP. I pissed boiling water when I realized how convenient it is.

    Do not get bored?

Application store. Here the habrayuzer for the most part smirks with the thought “let's see how he will justify the OS here!” - No way. No, I understand - a young OS, everything is developing, and there are not so few applications. However, the number of adequate applications is one, and most stupidly repeat the functionality of another. If on play.google.com I could find a working free application for everyone, then in this case it’s problematic to find the really necessary application for adequate requests. As a user it’s a big and fat minus, but as a programmer, you don’t have to look for an idea for a new project for a long time.

And in the last paragraph, the most delicious is synchronization. Microsoft's "three screens" really work. Themes, SkyDrive, Office, third-party applications ... But there is no barrel of honey without a fly in the ointment - for the application to work everywhere it needs to be done everywhere. Yes, the code is almost 100% Ctrl + C - Ctrl + V and most often only a little adaptation of the interface, but you still need to do this. Applications that work on all three types of devices are units. It’s a sin to hide, I also do my projects only on smart and on desktop hammering onto tablets.

UPD1. Work with two SIM cards

Messages and calls are, by default, spaced into different icons. However, in the messages and phone menus they can be combined / disconnected without abstruse settings, moreover, all separately. For example, you can leave two phone icons and a general message icon. In single-player mode, the name of the SIM card is written through a hyphen, for example, “Phone - Megafon”, while the color indication of the SIM cards is preserved. In the combined mode, the record belongs to the SIM card is indicated by the signature of the name at the bottom of the record in the list and by color when viewing the dialogue. Switching between SIM cards is carried out from the top right, exactly under the thumb. The only unpleasant moment is SMS delivery notifications from the Operator subscriber, which is not always convenient.
