We are distributing servers: December contest

    This month, we decided to continue distributing servers to the best projects in the habrasociety community. We took into account the mistakes and mistakes of the last promotion and offer updated rules.

    The timing

    • Submission of applications starts from the moment of publication of this article and ends at 23:59 GMT 12/23/2013.
    • 12/24/2013 we will publish a vote with selected applications. Voting will last three days from the date of publication.
    • Tentatively December 28-29, we will provide access to the winners and publish the results.

    Conditions

    This month we will issue 3 Intel Xeon E3-1230 / 8GB DDR3 / 4x1TB SATA2 / 100Mbps Unmetered servers in the EvoSwitch DC (Netherlands) based on the results of the vote. Unlike last month, whether or not to issue additional servers at our discretion, we will decide when we receive all applications.

    A prerequisite is the availability of a working prototype, for which, by its scale or specificity, hosting is clearly not enough. If you have a bunch of ideas, you just have to sit down and program ... sit down and program to be in time for our next contests.

    You can submit an application here in the comments, in PM or on our mail admin [Canis familiaris] ua-hosting.com.ua (in the subject line, indicate: “Habrakonkurs”; according to this word, applications are filtered and carefully put into a separate folder). When applying, as last time, you must specify all of the following:
    • the name of the project;
    • general idea and current state;
    • what do you see the benefits of your project, what is its purpose;
    • whether the project is planned to be commercialized, and if so, how and when.

    By submitting an application, you agree, if you win once a month, to provide us with a short free-form report on how the equipment issued to you is used and how the development of your project is progressing. We want our equipment to be useful, and not just to consume electricity, and such reports are the only way for us to verify this. We reserve the right to refuse to provide free services in case of misuse or downtime of the equipment.

    Servers are provided for 3 months for potentially commercial projects and 6 for a priori non-commercial ones. After this period, we will engage in dialogue and determine a further form of cooperation.

    All participants of the last competition who did not receive prizes can apply for this competition. However, we do not recommend submitting applications to those who scored a lot of minuses based on the results of the vote (however, we do not limit you to this right).

    And may the server come with you.

    UPD .: Extended the deadline for applications.
