According to the procedure, the petition must first go through an expert working group led by the Minister for the “Open Government” Mikhail Abyzov. The group also includes senator Ruslan Gattarov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Sergey Zheleznyak, deputy Robert Schlegel and other officials and public figures. The petition arrived at the experts on August 10, no decisions were announced on it.

Also, as ITAR-TASS reports, Krasheninnikov said that the expectations of thousands of complaints under the new law did not materialize. According to him, the Moscow City Court received 19 appeals, eight of which were rejected.

The petition on the Russian Public Initiative website, which called for the repeal or amendment of anti-piracy law, was launched on July 4. A little more than a month, she scored 100 thousand votes necessary for consideration in the State Duma. Later, the Pirate Party, which supported the petition, and the Communist Party agreed to jointly oppose the law, in particular, to facilitate the consideration of the petition in parliament.

Anti-piracy law provides for pre-trial blocking of sites that refused to remove pirated films at the request of the copyright holder. To do this, the latter must apply to the Moscow City Court for preliminary interim measures. Within 15 days after the appeal, the copyright holder must file a lawsuit, otherwise the block will be lifted. Norma was fiercely criticized by a number of large Internet companies, who considered that her positions threatened the development of the Runet. The law came into effect on August 1.
