Inconsistency in Original HP Cartridge Ads

    Recycling preamble

The issue of recycling office equipment wastes for a long time, but it was dealt with nationwide only some time ago. There are several reasons for imposing tough sanctions on the disposal of used cartridges: environmental pollution, refilling of used cartridges, as well as state control over the turnover of precious metals contained in cartridge chips.

During the crushing of cartridges in a crushing and screening complex, an explosion occurred due to fine toner (powder) and, as a result, a fire

Cartridges for printing laser printers are quite difficult for processing raw materials. For vendors working in the public sector and companies with huge paperwork, used cartridges are a real headache. For some time, namely, since 2006, all state employees have been given the directive prescribing cartridges on their own, do not dispose of office equipment, the paradox is that they also have no right to hand over money. Throwing away with ordinary garbage is not environmentally friendly and is fraught with responsibility.

These problems acutely faced society at a time when laser printers received a powerful impetus for development. Toner cartridges for laser printers contain a large amount of toxic substanceshazardous both to human health and to nature as a whole. Being sealed in a sealed case, the toner does not enter the surrounding space, however, when refilling or destroying the case, it happens that the cartridges cease to be sealed and the toner easily penetrates into the atmosphere.

This fact has caused great concern among environmentalists, which has led to tightened control over the disposal of cartridges. In the end, the largest companies producing supplies for their printers, including HP, announced the creation of programs for the disposal of used cartridges.

    The essence of the post

Currently, HP advertises its original cartridges as follows:

One of the main criteria for the profitability of cartridges is their environmental friendliness thanks to the declared free certified recycling service. Participants are even promised to issue beautiful certificates of program participants.

But the reality is cruel, and in it for more than six months HP has not kept its own promise given in the current advertisement: With repeated calls to the HP hotline, the consultants found it difficult to give me an answer when the advertised recycling service will again be put into operation. At the same time, boxes with defective and used cartridges continue to accumulate at my work.

Perhaps this post will warn someone against making wrong decisions based on the free recycling of printing supplies.
