Ice cream stick mini-machine # 1

    Sometimes it gets boring to drill dozens of tiny holes in the manufacture of a printed circuit board ... I don’t know what came over me, but I decided to make an automatic drilling machine. In this article I will describe the beginning of my journey in this matter.

    I don’t know how it all started ... I didn’t study any such problems, mechanics of machine tools and so on, just by drawing different sketches, I suddenly discovered that this could work. The material, as it may seem obvious from the name of the topic, came into my hands very exotic. But is it not from the same sticks to make a machine with complicated mechanics? True, I also used my favorite material - polycaprolactone - a kind of low-melting plastic. I will not advertise this material, I already did this in my last article .
    So, in front of me was plastic and wooden sticks, where did I start? .. my main problem is that I do everything without clear drawings, as I see the device in my head - I do it, if something goes wrong, then I solve problems as they become available. So I immediately started with a plastic frame.

    2 cheap stepper motors that have long been idle are already visible in the photo. A significant minus of these motors is only in their speed ... until we drill slowly, later I will find good engines.

    Let's look at the example of movement along one axis. I immediately warn that I draw and explain as badly as I do the rest.

    colored strings are fishing line, inextensible thread, etc.
    So if we need to move back, then just turn the motor clockwise, but how then to move forward?

    Nothing complicated, just the green and purple strings are initially wound clockwise and when the motor is twisted counterclockwise, they will move the wand, and accordingly the “head” forward. Likewise, left and right on another motor.
