Oval Elephant - another competitor to the Raspberry Pi

In general, after the success of the Raspberry Pi, it was already clear that competitive models released by other companies would soon appear. I did not have to wait long: almost immediately after the announcement of this flash drive, other models of mini-computers began to appear, some of which turned out to be surprisingly successful. As an example of such devices, we can cite those that have already been published on Habré: here , here and there . Now, another representative has appeared in the mini-PC family.

This is Oval Elephant, a flash drive with Android OS on board. Despite the name, the device is neither oval nor elephant-like. As a hardware platform, manufacturers equipped the device with an AllWinner A10 Cortex A8 processor with a core frequency of 1.5 GHz. The graphics system is Mali 400. The user has 4 GB of internal memory, plus support for microSD cards with a capacity of up to 64 gigabytes. There is also a wireless module 802.11b / g / n WiFi.

The developers have provided 1 GB of RAM, which, along with the specified characteristics, makes it quite productive. The cost of a flash drive is not very high, although it is higher than that of the Raspberry Pi. Its price is 71.49 US dollars. After 1000 pre-orders are collected, the cost will be reduced to 65 US dollars.

Deliveries will begin on July 12 - this is the time of dispatch of the first batch, and on July 20 - the second batch.
