Youtube Preview

Youtube has launched a new Youtube Preview feature that helps you find the right moment in a long video clip . The function works very simply: just hover over the scroll bar and a reduced copy of the frame is displayed, which is located at approximately the specified location. This feature is very familiar to many of us, it has long been on those sites where preview is important.

The preview is instantly updated if you move the mouse to another part of the scroll bar.

If you hold the mouse along the strip, then Youtube shows a whole series with frame-by-frame scanning.

For films over 90 minutes, this feature works in a more complicated way: an additional small scroll bar is displayed, on which one and a half minutes of video are placed, and you can already watch frames on it (one frame per second).

New functionality is gradually rolling out for the entire audience, within a few weeks it will be available to every Youtube user. While the preview works only in flash, it is not so simple to implement it in an HTML player.
