BMW introduced its own robot car

Now the topic of robotic cars, which can independently navigate in the environment, avoiding obstacles in the form of pedestrians and other cars, is very popular. Probably the most famous example of implementing the idea of a robot car is a car from Google. These cars have repeatedly shown what they are capable of, and really deserve a positive assessment. But BMW has also prepared a good version of the robot car.

So, in a car from BMW there are also a large number of various sensors, cameras, laser scanners and other devices that help cars navigate in space. But the difference between BMW cars and Google cars is that BMW tried to hide most of the systems, making the robot mobile almost indistinguishable from a regular 5 Series car.

BMW believes that such cars can go on sale in 5-10 years, and work is already underway to make the robomobile practical and efficient. In order to prove the practicality of its car in practice, the company conducted a test, allowing a robotic car to ride on a high-speed autobahn (without speed limits). The tests were quite successful, with which the company can be congratulated.
