Nine words about #habrapati

With a little delay, but still keeping order (chronological), I post a post about the sixth habraves meeting the year before last. This time I decided to slightly change the format of the presentation of the material, and instead of the usual report there will be a direct speech from the participants - everyone who was on October 27, I asked to write a few words on the topic “Why do you go to the meeting”. It was always interesting to me :)

Nine revelations - under the cut. And the next, already eighth meeting - the day after tomorrow, in the same place and at the same hour.

The idea was given to me by the Sergei_Erjemin habrayuzer , so the first performance was from him. So,

    journalist Sergei_Erjemin :

    - And I, as usual for me, was late. By the way, only 20 minutes. As a result, I did not get a seat at the table. They moved the small round one to the rectangular one and I sat, as it were, together and separately at the same time. The table was divided into humanitarian and non-humanitarian parts. And I hit the first one. Actually, it’s just that I haven’t been doing any technical Internet affairs for a long time. I heard about all sorts of CDNs, Cassandra and MangoDB, but I didn’t have to feel it with my hands (but it will periodically flood, put it all in, set it up and ... abandon it as unnecessary) ... Actually and not surprisingly. Programming for desktops was abandoned in 1995, the creation of the Internet in 2004, and now freelance correspondent Kommersant and Expert (investment topics) and managing partner of the wellSTART cluster business incubator .

Because I was late that the rest of the time I talked about what business incubators are, what they do, how they differ from business accelerators, venture companies, what happens to startups that get on the screens of my locator, events around this whole innovative-modernization bacchanalia, etc. At the end I liked collective solutions to problems in probability theory (I didn’t guess anything but always was, which pleases, along with the majority). I forgot to ask my tricky task on ter.ver, but I’m at the last meeting for the last time (I hope). Still smash your head!

    Electronic Engineer Sergey dlinyj :

    - I perceive any meetings of IT employees as a good occasion to meet interesting and smart people. As a rule, this is a sort of interest club. Always in it you can learn something new for yourself, learn something or teach others. Necessary and interesting acquaintances are often made. As a rule, the whole value of such meetings is recognized later, after years.

At this meeting I met an interesting friend (habr-nick) Ocelot. processor developer. As it turned out, we work in related facilities. Mine and his organizations are developing processors, and as I understand it, supercomputers.

With him, we discussed the parallelization of various tasks. Plus, we thought how to parallelize the task of finding “happy” tickets on computing clusters-supercomputers, with numbers on the ticket more than 10. So far, the question remains open.

It was also interesting to meet a lawyer (in my opinion) Alexei. Which asked an interesting "yes-netka" from criminology.

Especially amused by various mathematical puzzles.

Loved it, friendly atmosphere, lots of beer and interesting conversations. I can’t say that the topics raised left me indifferent.

    Lawyer Alexey Alexey_Sirenko :

    - For me, the humanities, communication with techies is always an occasion to shake oneself and look at familiar things from the other side. In addition, being in a circle of smart and aspiring people in an informal setting is a gift to the soul in our busy world.

    A businessman and our regular berq22 :

    - Because people gather there initially united by a habr and the idea of technology, so whoever comes and what he does is everyone will be sincerely glad, and even with hellish electronic engineers you feel at ease. there are a lot of useful contacts. In any case, the time is well spent, even if not drunk enough.

    Sysadmin Aydar fkvf :

    - Every time a new acquaintance, people.
Here gather those who do not burn their lives.
In general, this is a cool time-place-community for a friendly meeting where you can drink rum, sit with good friends, find someone useful for you, do something useful for others.

    Engineer Dmitry Ocelot :

    - For me, meeting friends is a kind of club where gentlemen (and ladies, but fewer so far) come to talk. Separately, I am pleased to be able to meet people from not quite your field of activity, those with whom you usually rarely meet, but from whom you can undoubtedly learn a lot. Last time, for example, it was interesting to listen to a lawyer. In general, the impressions of the meetings are extremely positive, I will try to maintain the tradition, which I wish for everyone else.

Behind Ocelot in the frame - project manager Pavel nasreddin :

    - Only at home meetings can you see live those people whose articles you read every day, with whom you communicate, whose topics are close and interesting to you.
Stupidly living within walking distance of the interlocutor to communicate only on the Internet.
It is interesting to learn about new projects from the organizers themselves, without slogans and advertising. What the process itself looked like from the inside, what difficulties the participants faced ...
And finally, it’s just communication. Not with neighbors who are doing things incomprehensible to me and who, in turn, do not understand me, but with people who are close to my problems, who have similar interests and tastes.

    Programmer Michael mktums :

    - I go to a meeting because I’m a habraalkash)

And the hodik sitting next to me :

    - Came for the first time. In most thematic meetings, all conversations are looped around one area. At Khabravstreche I was able to talk on many new and interesting topics. This is my last meeting :)

Spelling and styling of the originals saved.

    What's next?

The day after tomorrow, November 10 - already the eighth habraposidelki.

The topic of the meeting - we will come up with a name for our club.

The meeting place cannot be changed - Cafe Mart, Petrovka 25s1, a hall with arches. Twitter announcements by hashtag #habraparty .

And tomorrow - an article from the last meeting and the promised story about the Boston Mass Challenge .

    Come :)
