Information Security Expert Thomas Schinder to Visit Moscow and Speak at Tech ∙ Ed Russia 2011

    Today, Thomas Schinder is a lead engineer on one of Microsoft's development teams. The product, which Thomas’s team is developing, is called Unified Access Gateway, a tool for providing secure remote access to business applications within the Forefront family. Unified Access Gateway allows you to deploy a secure VPN network with SSL support and security through the built-in firewall.

    It is curious that Thomas has a deep medical education, which he received at the universities of Berkeley, Illinois, Texas in the USA. He spent three years specializing in the University of Health and Science, Oregon, USA. Thomas began his career in the IT industry in the early 1990s, working as a trainer, writer, and consultant for several Fortune 500 companies, including FINA Oil, Lucent Technologies, and Sealand Container Corporation. In 2000, Thomas became the editor and moderator of the site http://www.isaserver.org , which later turned into a leading resource dedicated to ISA Server. In December 2001, Thomas received Most Valued Professional (MVP) status for his contribution to the development of the ISA Server community.

    For 13 years, since 1997, Thomas Schinder has worked at TACTEAM, which today provides training and consulting for various companies on topics of network technologies and IT security. Thomas is an active writer and has written many books during his creative life, for example:and many others.

    In December 2009, Thomas became a Microsoft employee, joining the Unified Access Gateway team as a senior technical editor.
