US intends to create hacker-protected virtual zone

This is the case - all these cyber wars, the theft of information from servers owned by various government services, have weary statesmen in America so much that they decided to create a virtual shelter where evil hackers simply could not get. Roughly this is the essence of the speech delivered by General Keith Alexander, head of the US Cyber Command, before special. congressional committee

The general said that most of the attacks that affect important elements of the US network infrastructure are carried out or ordered by enemies of this country, including terrorists, criminals (i.e. the mafia), various kinds of intelligence services of other countries. The purpose of the attacks is either the theft of important information, or the blocking of the work of individual structures, plus a test of the strength of the defense capabilities of those same “cyber-military forces”.

A shelter from hackers, which will be created in the near future, will be a kind of virtual space where the main elements of the US network infrastructure will work, including computer networks of various departments, including, of course, intelligence services and the military. The general believes that the creation of such a zone “does not constitute much effort,” and believes that the main problem is various formalities, for example, the development of standards common to all participants in this shelter.

It is worth noting that this same general believes that hackers do not particularly harm the country's defense capabilities, however, “God saves those who are safe”, and it’s worth creating a special refuge for the most vulnerable and important virtual space objects for the country.

Keith Alexander also said that all operations to create a safe zone for the network infrastructure of US public services will be as transparent as possible. All this will make sure that all ongoing work comply with the law.

Among the reasons that prompted the US government to create new ways to ensure the security of computer networks in this country, the general names the information that "US enemies are planning and creating new methods of attack, some of which are very dangerous."

So far, nothing concrete has been said about what kind of virtual shelter it will be. But the idea is interesting, so let's see what happens next.
