VMware View Client in Russian

As you know, VMware View version 4.5 has recently become available. A few weeks ago, VMware and the OCS distribution company organized a seminar in their office among VMware partners for the exchange of experience (Partner Exchange). At this seminar, one of the experts asked a question about the Russification of VMware View, first of all, the client part - after all, users work with it.
Unfortunately, at the moment in Release Notes we read:
View Client and online help for View Client are available in Japanese, French, German, and simplified Chinese . The VMware View Administrator's Guide, VMware View Installation Guide, VMware View Upgrade Guide, and VMware View Architecture Planning Guide are also available in these languages

But as they say, if you really want to, then you can ...

We answer the question of our colleagues:
Everything is understandable - most likely, not so many VMware View licenses are still being sold in Russia. After all, you need to cover the costs of translating the client itself and the documentation (of course, these are one-time costs, by the way, VMware has very good localization of terms in other products). And most importantly, the cost of technical support for Russified products (Hello, VMware, we are ready to implement local TP on mutually beneficial conditions). After all, our foreign colleagues will not understand our Cyrillic runes.
But we are all engineers and technical specialists. Immediately make a reservation, we are talking about a client for MS Windows.
... And since it is MS Windows, then everything is simple! Since at least one other language is available, besides American English, it means that most likely the product is ready for localization, the kernel allows it.
    • 1. We look at files in C: \ Program Files \ VMware \ VMware View \ Client \ bin
    • 2. Find the resource library wswc_en_us_409.dll
    • 3. We translate dialogs by any resource editor and generally change everything you need
    • 4. We write the changed library under the same name back to \ bin

Voila! (slightly increased the window in size, since in Russian, as a rule, it turns out longer) For aesthetes, you can go further:
Here is the VMware View client in Russian

    • 5. Rename the library to wswc_ru_ru_419.dll
    • 6. We start VMware View Client, we look at the loaded libraries (wswc.exe):

    wswc.exe processes

Naturally, no one promises anything and does not support such tricks, as they say, “AS IS”
