Nokia has changed CEO

    Nokia published a press release on the resignation of President and CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo ( left ) and the occupation of this post by Stephen Ilop ( right ).



    Information that Nokia is looking for a new CEO appeared in July , but this was not officially confirmed. Now it is announced that Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, who has worked in the company for more than 30 years, will leave his current post on September 20. Under the contract, Kallasvuo is entitled to severance pay of EUR 4.6 million.

    On September 21, the vacant post will be taken by Canadian Stephen Ilop, who has a degree in computer engineering and management from McMaster University. He now heads the Microsoft business line, and previously held senior positions in a number of US companies, including Juniper Networks, Adobe Systems and Macromedia.
