How to work without “working”

How much are you willing to spend per day on work? And to be honest? :) No, not “work,” to say sitting up pants, but on productive activities?

Suppose you are already burdened by family, friends, other interests, not a young (over 25) city resident ...

Introduced? I will exacerbate: a resident of a densely populated metropolis :) Spend 2+ hours of life daily on the road. This is the same watch that is so lacking for ... (sleep, work, wife, lover, children - underline what is necessary).

Having finally reached the office, we begin ... uh ... working day.
But are we friends, effective, sitting booty exactly on the office chair?

Surely everyone noticed that sometimes the work is arguing, there are a lot of forces, the mood is fighting, and sometimes ...

ICQ / YouTube / Twitter / forum / Habr and so that no one peck into the brain :)

How to work a little, and have time to do a lot? How to have a lot of free time, but quickly respond to urgent things?

There are no universal recipes for everyone, but there is good news ...

... for us IT specialists :) We usually work from the opposite, as in the proverb: "If the admin is in the soap every day, then it's time to drive it." The debugged system works itself, smoothes out small failures and swears directly to you directly during major failures, so you can work ... well, practically from anywhere, there was only "our everything" Internet :)

Usually, the job is to monitor and debug all sorts of things, starting from the active equipment, ending with the site engine and sending and receiving letters / asek / whatever. It is clear that the real Jedi has no limit to perfection: you can hone the speed of detection and troubleshooting. Then the efficiency will increase, and the number of free time will increase :)

For this, the inquisitive and lazy minds of IT specialists came up with a bunch of adapt. I will describe what I use:

"Where are my charges, there is my home."
Needless to say, the motorist lives incomparably easier than a pedestrian? Where else with such comfort you will spend 2-3-4-5 hours of your life every day :)
Traffic jams are a scourge of big cities ...
But they do not interfere: on the streets of Iota or on the edge of 3G or even GPRS. Therefore, "if I'm on the Internet, then I'm at work." For especially jealous testers: we make an encrypted tunnel for ourselves (well, let it be GOST encrypted, on the laptop then there should be a STerra client, Dionysus or whatever you use there) or an enemy IPSec import (and Opennet or cisco easy vpn clients) Connecting to a corporate LAN, we get a private address, register a soft-phone (such a phone is on the screen) at the local IP-telephone exchange, and from the point of view of accountant Aunt Vali you are at the workplace, because she calls you on an internal number. Not only that, you can also call intercity for free :) You answer letters, help her in the messenger to reload her trash :) Everyone is happy.

There are difficulties with the classic IPSec (although there are only 2 ports needed UDP / 500, UDP / 4500), for example, the higher administrator has forbidden (security policy), then you can try all sorts of WebVPN (SSLVPN) implementations from tsiska or OpenSource.

Note: the otmaz that IPSec'a we do not and I do not configure tsiska does not channel. Take any OpenSource router (Vyatta, for example), put it on the

virtual machine and go ahead and with the songs :) I'll be honest: as I introduced Iota into the car, sometimes I even regret the traffic jam ... it ended: I didn’t have time to add something, check it, send it :)

If there is no Internet with you as evil, then it is handed out for free in the “network of free toilets” with a stylized letter M around the world. Also look at other places for WiFi Free stickers or something like that. As a rule, these labels have the name of the operator and you need to choose a connection to it, which is unprotected. Most likely, you will first be asked where to go the thread through the browser, they will remember you and give out a little coveted Internet. By the way, if you are embarrassed to enter or not money for ice cream, you can work as a war-driver, i.e. get close by. As a rule, hot spots (access points) hit wider than the building and you can comfortably work, for example, in a car.

“I don’t have a warm coat”, or “And if I forgot my laptop at home?”
Special attention is paid to all kinds of smartphones. I personally do not like them, preferring a normal beech, but as a "last resort" you can use it. To do this, you need to install it ... alas, with VPN it’s probably a bummer, but the worker and peasant PuTTy for SSH is quite. Just don’t turn your nose: the console is our everything! Even Windows understood it :) Master :)
By the way, I’m a retrograde, I don’t like the touchscreen - it is always blurred and wiped and the on-screen keyboard closes part of the significant window. I prefer the glass and the YTsUKEN-keyboard retractable, but here is an amateur.

The theme often arises that something big needs to be either buried or laid out. For this, it is full of services, ranging from Rapidshara, ending with slil / zalil.ru. In some cases, you can use your home computer or NAS installed in the same place. To do this, publish this computer (all sorts of DynDNS and the company) and cling to it with some kind of VPN thread (PPTP, for example, in the case of Windows). This method has a significant minus: speed. Typically, home users sit on an asynchronous channel and slowly give up. Or it's a home network with unpredictable speed.

For a pedestrian, I can only recommend small shortcomings with a long battery life: for such a "typewriter" speed is not particularly needed, therefore, to save battery, it is better to use SSD and stone LOWER. But I would choose so that the keyboard would be comfortable. It’s hard to work quickly without it.

Thus, you are almost anywhere (with a girlfriend on the beach, with a friend in the garage or with the mother-in-law in the country) can catch on to any network / resource served and quickly put everything upside down. Not arranging races with obstacles. Although ... from the mother-in-law it is possible to “break the Internet” :)

Good luck and productive work to everyone where productivity is found. And also keep up with everything and the masses of free time in addition :) By the way, the office is not particularly needed.
