Symfony Code'n'Coffe (August) Moscow

Continuing my own initiative, I want to announce the next event, which will be held on Saturday August 7 at 12:00.
I didn’t want to postpone until August, but on July 30 I go to Startup Weekend . All comers can join .

A few words about how the first event went.

It turns out pretty dry for me, so with the permission of ukko I will publish his report:

I was at an event of such a plan (code and coffee) for the first time and I really liked the idea when you single out one day a week, when you can come and do code for your own pleasure. Write, communicate and share ideas and ideas.
Also, it was very interesting for me to find out that people are faced with some questions for the first time that you have already decided for a long time and you have an answer to their question, i.e. when you can help others by sharing your experiences. In general, just the same as the storytelling :) The
undoubted plus is the acquaintance with smart, interesting and inquisitive people. Useful communications and all things ...
Max explained a lot and told people how to use all sorts of goodies and what a mega-cool, showed it all on a live, working code. Remember, here it is the charm of such meetings!

Really juzulny scheme - pair programming through TDD. It is especially useful when one participant needs to enter the project, and another explain the scheme of work of this miracle.
From the side it looks something like this:
Guru (a more experienced friend) writes a simple functional test, then at the same computer the Padawan writes the code that passes this test. Next, the guru completes the test, and the second completes the program so that the test does not fail. Thus, the novice gradually immerses in the code under the strict supervision of the elder.
And if you have an idea that you are going to a similar meeting with a friend, then you can think about only one laptop.

Drawing a conclusion about the event, we can turn on some marketing nonsense:
Free yourself 1 day from worldly troubles! Come and sausage your open source project with completely strangers or pick up a startup with friends! Chat! Share your experience! Whoever wants to can get drunk afterwards ... :)
And if someone is tired of my text mess, then here are the dry numbers:
    - Hours spent: 7 hours.
    - Money spent: 640 p.
    - Drunk drinks: 3 pcs.
    - Cookies: 0 pcs :(
    - New acquaintances: 2 people.
    - Problems solved: 1 task of a new project for me
    - Toilet: 1 time
    - Metro: 2 trips. I

’ll add my conclusions here too, which I would like to learn from the following coffee code ...
1 Mega-detailed directions, how to get there, whom to ask, where to go in and climb
    2. Check the organizers first with their own place. And then we were smoked with music and prices from the first place :)
    3. More active PR, mailing, etc. I really wanted to see the people who were at the symphony conference.
    4. It is necessary to explain to the people what such gatherings mean for professional activities. What useful contacts do they gain in them, experience. Exchange of knowledge ...
    5. You can come up with projects that people are interested in solving. Let them take it and do it during such meetings. Invaluable experience, and the result that can be directly felt without leaving the box office.

UPD : A couple of words from Sergey Orlov:

I was at the last meeting and I will definitely be at the next one.
    What are they for me?
To get information from people who every day in practice work with technologies that you just read about and would really like to use, but there is always not enough time :).
Ask a question, a five-minute answer to which can save you hours of digging in the source and searching in Google.
To see the development process is more competent and better than your own.
And the most important thing is to talk about your favorite business, in a calm and comfortable atmosphere :).
And then you can try to do the same for someone, help, discover something new.
    Come on, it's worth it.

We are recorded on the event page .
