The first results of the School Project in Nizhny Novgorod

    Alexander Petrov installs Linux School Junior at the teacher’s workplaceYesterday, with a small team of 4 people, we conducted the first implementation of School Linux in the computer class of one of the schools in the Lenin district. The implementation was a comprehensive option for setting up a computer class with 8 student workstations and one teacher's computer. The solution included:

    • Install and configure School Linux Junior 5.0.1 on all class computers and the teacher’s computer
    • Configuring network shares (network folders) on the teacher’s computer
      • Tasks folder is read-only for students and designed to accommodate students
      • Income folder available for recording and intended for transferring completed work to the teacher's computer

    • Setting up peripheral equipment on the teacher's computer (scanner and printer)
    • Configuring video cards, monitor resolutions and verifying the functioning of the School Linux Junior School Software
    • Setting up Internet access from each computer
    • Setting up an iTalc class management system
    • Install and configure Internet access control system based on Squid and Sams
    • Install and configure the internal MediaWiki system for publishing tasks for students
    • Installation of a registration system and registration of computers on the website of pilot zones of STR ( spohelp.ru )
