iAd - advertising service from Apple
At yesterday's presentation of the new iPhone OS 4 operating system, Apple introduced the iAd advertising service. This service has already been mentioned, ( 1 , 2 ) but rather superficially, let's see what it is:
Steve Jobs says that the creators of iAd tried to do everything to combine interactivity and emotions - two characteristics that generally do not get along "Traditional" advertising messages.
Advertisers are encouraged to place interactive ad units in their applications. The blocks themselves will be created using HTML5 and will contain various types of media and even games.
Apple promises to give developers who wish to advertise in their applications 60% of the profit, thereby stimulating and supporting application developers, according to Steve Jobs, this is the main goal of creating iAd, however, the use of alternative advertising providers will not be prohibited.
“We do not strive to become a global advertising agency. We tried to acquire AdMob, but Google got in the way. Then we acquired Quattro. They teach us, and we learn as fast as we can, ”said the head of Apple.
