Lenovo, in collaboration with RRC's Bento Cloud, a division of cloud services, decided to offer its customers a unique opportunity for Russia to purchase laptops on lease. The program covers a range of Lenovo laptops with a Microsoft software subscription, and all of the proposed devices are covered by the extended Lenovo three-year warranty. Customers will also be able to upgrade their fleet of laptops without the need for a large one-time investment and the cost of repairs and maintenance.

As stated, at present IT leasing is gaining popularity not only abroad, but also in Russia, but far from all domestic companies are aware of its advantages. Moreover, not everyone knows about the very possibility to take IT equipment on lease in our country, because the organizations providing such services are few - they can be counted on the fingers. In the meantime, in many countries, IT leasing has long become a standard, and on the terms of leasing a significant part of equipment purchase / lease deals is concluded. Clients on favorable terms are offered various types of IT leasing.

    What is IT leasing?

IT leasing is a type of long-term lease of equipment with the right of its subsequent purchase. As an alternative to classic leases and loans, leasing allows companies, businesses and organizations to purchase, rent, or upgrade IT equipment on much more attractive terms. In many cases it is much more profitable and efficient not to buy expensive equipment, but simply to take it into use, returning or replacing it with new at the end of the contract.

Leasing can be a good option for large companies that implement large-scale IT programs, as well as for small enterprises that need expensive IT equipment. Typically, leasing models take into account the entire life cycle of IT equipment, all costs are included in a single stream of payments.

IT leasing simplifies the optimization and structuring of IT assets, reduces the cost of financing, operational risks / costs, maintains current IT status by replacing obsolete equipment, pay for equipment using revenues from its operation, optimizes taxes on profits, property and value added .

A leasing agreement involves obtaining equipment for use for a specified period and making lease payments for it. At the end of the contract period, depending on the leasing model, the contracting company (the lessee) becomes the owner of the equipment (financial leasing) or returns it to the leasing company (operational leasing). Also, by prior agreement, you can take advantage of technological equipment upgrade (upgrade).

Thus, leasing computer equipment with preinstalled software is a profitable way to update the PC fleet for many small and medium-sized businesses. Leasing programs allow you to avoid large one-time payments and get modern equipment when necessary. In addition, lease payments relate to the costs of the enterprise and reduce the income tax, while the equipment is not listed on the balance sheet and is not taxed.

This financial tool allows you to modernize and strengthen your business without significant distraction of working capital. Compared to a loan, leasing has significant advantages: it does not require collateral, since the property remains in the ownership of the company that provides leasing services (the lessor), and, as already noted, allows you to optimize tax payments. Intermediary partners may also be involved in this scheme.

Thus, if you need any equipment, but as long as you do not have the opportunity to buy it, you can always lease it. When ordering equipment for leasing, you have the opportunity to lease software as well. The new program offers customers a unique and favorable conditions for the leasing of equipment and software.

What do Lenovo and Bento Cloud offer?

Usually, speaking about the benefits of cloud services, they emphasize that the customer does not need to deploy IT infrastructure and thus significantly reduce capital costs. The new proposal will provide an opportunity, if there is such a need, to smoothly go to the cloud and at the same time save not only on servers, but also on client systems. The essence of this leasing program is as follows.

To purchase Lenovo equipment, the customer signs a lease agreement for laptops and a sublicensing agreement for a subscription for Microsoft Office 365 software with one of the Bento Cloud partners . Microsoft Office 365- a set of modern office programs that offer opportunities to collaborate on projects and documents with access from anywhere in the world. The Lenovo + Microsoft Office 365 (CSP) laptop configuration includes the ability to choose between two packages — Office 365 Business or Office 365 Business Premium.

Leasing is issued for three years with a fixed monthly payment. After the expiration of the lease, the equipment becomes the property of the customer.

Microsoft Office 365 consists of cloud versions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, SharePoint 2010, and Microsoft Lync Server. Some Office 365 subscription options include access to Microsoft Office Professional Plus, as well as Microsoft Office Web Apps.

In this case, the customer may at any time refuse to lease. If he does this during the first year of leasing, he is obliged to pay a lump sum of Bento Cloud equal to six monthly payments. If the customer refuses to lease during the 2nd and 3rd year, then no penalties will be applied to him.

Service and warranty services are provided by Lenovo, including as part of an extended three-year warranty. Laptop breakdown does not mean idle work. At the time of repair, the customer may be provided with a replacement laptop. After-sales service from authorized Lenovo centers will help you quickly troubleshoot and store important data. The replacement laptop must be returned after the repair of the main equipment. The customer will have to deliver the equipment to the Bento Cloud warehouse and from the warehouse.

This program provides the following benefits to the customer (lessee):

    • The absence of large one-time costs.
    • One hundred percent lending does not have to spend time and money on getting a loan from a bank.
    • The release of cash.
    • Reducing the risk of obsolescence of equipment (it can be quickly updated).
    • Reduction of income tax due to the inclusion of lease payments on the cost of production.
    • Depreciation benefits (laptops are not listed on the balance sheet at the customer, which frees him from paying tax on this property).
    • Lease payments refer to the expenditure part of the cash flow, so VAT is returned to the company.
    • Constantly updated software (specific cloud software).
    • The term of the lease agreement corresponds to the payback period of the leased asset.
    • The possibility of purchasing equipment at the end of the lease term.
    • Qualified service and maintenance of an authorized Lenovo center.

To date, the project participants have finally decided on laptop models and have completed the preparation of the legal part of the program. In addition, a pool of priority partners of the program has been formed, negotiations are underway with potential customers.

In world practice, leasing is considered one of the most effective financing mechanisms - leasing operations make up a considerable amount in the procurement of expensive equipment and machinery. According to experts, the share of leasing in developed countries is more than 30% of the total investment. However, in Russia at the moment this type of activity is practiced infrequently. If leasing of aviation, agricultural and medical equipment is already widespread, then there are few examples of the use of such a scheme in the field of information technology.

Meanwhile, this scheme is especially attractive for highly profitable business, where it provides working capital savings, and industrial enterprises, which often have no other opportunity to re-equip their technological base, small and medium-sized businesses that do not risk making large investments, but want to create conditions for comfortable and efficient work of employees. It allows you to plan and optimize company costs, save on taxes, and maintain current assets.

The new program meets the goals of Bento Cloud- to increase the volume of the partner’s business by providing new opportunities to its customers by reducing the costs of access to resources. Thanks to Bento Cloud, partners will be able to strengthen their position in the market and differentiate themselves from the number of competitors, increase the volume of their business by expanding the offer to customers, open access to new resources for them and reduce the current costs of equipment and software.

Customers also win, because the effectiveness of modern business depends largely on its ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions. The leasing program will allow companies to get everything they need right now, without delaying the update until better times. This is an opportunity to optimize investments in the renewal of the fleet of devices and take advantage of all the advantages that the OS gives on modern equipment.
