Gmail Labs: who will be released and who will retire

We launched Gmail Labs over a year and a half ago. This is an experimental laboratory that allows developers to offer new features, and you to decide which ideas are viable and which are not. Any Google developer can offer a new feature, implement it and launch it for tens of millions of users.
Initially, Gmail Labs included 13 features. Their number quickly grew to 60, and this is far from the limit. We have received countless comments from you. In addition, we constantly monitored statistics and saw that some of the experimental features became popular among millions of people, while others were used very little. Some of them have already outgrown the walls of the laboratory and become full-fledged Gmail functions, and we fired one function. Tasks were the first experimental feature to become a standard feature of Gmail . The shortcuts on the right resigned after updating the shortcuts functionality . Gmail offline has become a standard featurea few months ago. Today, in accordance with the plan of Gmail Labs, we are releasing 4 more functions and resigning 5. We
are releasing and becoming standard Gmail functions:
1. Reminder of unattached files
2. Watching YouTube videos in the mail
3. Custom colors for shortcuts
4. Vacation!
The following people are resigning:
1. Status message switch
2. Monospace font
3. Postholic
4. Add location to signature
5. Random signature
These decisions were made mainly on the basis of statistics on the use of experimental functions, as well as user feedback.
Reminder of unattached files
Sometimes it happens that we forget to attach a file to the letter, and then we send after the forgotten application. To help you avoid embarrassing situations, Gmail can detect phrases that indicate the presence of an attached file and warn you about it. Why limit yourself to a meager palette if you can choose from more than 4000 possible color combinations? Now it will be much more convenient for you to distinguish your shortcuts and organize them. Click Add Custom Color in the standard shortcut interface. Vacation! If you specify the dates of your vacation in advance, you will not need to think about turning on the answering machine in time at the beginning of the vacation. Enter your vacation dates in advance and Gmail will do everything for you.
Sending functions is always a difficult decision. We invest in developing and supporting these features. We understand that some of you do not like the most popular Gmail features. However, Gmail Labs is still an experimental laboratory. Experimental capabilities may sometimes fail (for this there is a simple possibility of disabling them ) or even disappear. Over the next few days, you will see the Status Message Switch, Monospace font, Postman, Adding Location to Signature, and Random Signature stop working and disappear from the Gmail Labs interface.
