One of YouTube’s undisputed strengths has always been its variety of content. However, we know that some users would like to be able to filter out potentially unwanted videos in order to protect themselves or their family members from them. This could be, for example, a news video containing violent scenes.
To provide them with this opportunity, we introduce the Safe Mode feature . None of the filters provides 100% protection, however safe mode is another measure that we constantly take to increase user control over the content that can be viewed.
Enabling safe mode is simple: just click on the appropriate link at the bottom of the page with any video. The link will be available to all users during the day. And with a YouTube password, you can even block this setting from changing in your browser. For more information, see the video below.

The goal of the campaign is to educate teenagers, parents and teachers on how to use the extensive communication capabilities of the Internet and, in particular, YouTube video hosting, while remaining safe.
