Here I see the problem in what - I am rather weak in the clerical office - the text simply blows that it is “left”, which means trust “on reflexes”, so that the conditional grandmother (even if this is a grated major) poked the worker with her nose: “because ! ”- also will not cause.
Therefore, I propose that the community jointly think about this topic.
I do not amuse myself with the illusions of the ability to solve the problem of the “tragedy of communities” from below through the “universal self-consciousness of the masses” and understand the global futility of fluttering, but sometimes somewhere locally - maybe it can help someone (make life hmm ... more convenient).

современные wi-fi роутеры (маршрутизаторы) «пробивают» сигнал сквозь стены и полы-потолки на пару этажей.
Пароль закрывает от других ваш вай-фай, но НЕ убирает само излучение, которое всем остальным — просто помеха. (а их излучение (сигнал) – помеха вам)
1. По возможности используйте кабель – хотя бы до стационарных устройств (компьютер. телевизор, медиаплеер и т.п.) – он не подвержен помехам и не даёт их в эфир сам.
2. Если вы только собираетесь ставить роутер (хаб, маршрутизатор) — выбирайте место ближе к центру квартиры подальше от стен с соседями и окон, поближе к наиболее частой точке работы с беспроводными устройствами, например в гостиной или кабинете, а не кухне или в шкафу в коридоре.
3. Если он у вас уже есть – лист фольги или жести меж ним и стеной к соседям (или окном) – улучшит связь у вас в квартире – отразит ваш сигнал вам внутрь и уменьшит бесполезный уход вашего сигнала наружу.
4. Используйте в Вашем роутере выключатель, что бы включать его лишь когда он вам нужен – и не забивать эфир зря в остальное время (когда вы не пользуетесь интернетом – работающий роутер по-прежнему «держит канал» и рассылает запросы на подключение. Да ещё жжёт электричество).
5. Или настройте в нём расписание его автоматического включения-выключения (оно настраивается там же где пароли)
6. Уговорите ваших соседей сделать так же.
Излучение wi-fi полностью безопасно, но в любом случае электроника автоматически держит мощность сигнала достаточной для связи – чем больше помех или чем дальше два устройства – тем большую мощность они выдают на антенны, т.е. убирая роутер «на антресоль» вы не делаете излучение меньше – наоборот, он будет только сильнее «молотить», что бы «добить» и то же самое будет делать ваш телефон/планшет/плеер и т.п.).
7. Который для других – помеха, значит и у других ИХ связь станет тоже лучше. А их роутер перестанет мешать Вам (поскольку снизит мощность сигнала. т.к. ему не мешает ваша помеха)
Простой проход по лестнице в субботу вечером показывает, что в подъезде активно около двух сотен wi-fi устройств, т.е по нескольку на квартиру (телефоны-смартфоны-айфоны, новые плоские телевизоры, компьютеры, планшеты, ноутбуки, медиаплееры, игровые приставки, камеры, kinect-ы, автомобили на парковке, дома напротив и т.п.) — поставив экраны из фольги-жести и выключая свой wi-fi за ненадобностью мы все уменьшим забитость Wi-Fi эфира помехами, улучшив сами себе качество беспроводного интернета.

• If possible, connect fixed receivers (computer, player, TV) with a cable.
• Disable unused wi-fi on TVs, media player, game consoles, smart phones, smart toys, etc.)
• In other wi-fi consumers, turn on only when you really need it.
• Place the transmitter as close as possible to the main receivers - best in the center of the apartment, at a height of about one meter from the floor.
