The new WiMAX provider Soyuz Telecom plans to connect small towns and rural settlements

In the second half of last year, Soyuz Telecom company first laconicly announced the creation of a test zone in the Moscow region , and then a little more detailed told about the planned launch (in test mode) of wireless Internet access using Mobile WiMAX 4G technology in the village Kanev Krasnodar Territory . (Kanevskaya is the largest rural type settlement in the region, and the second largest in Russia .)

At the general forum (Forums.Kuban.Ru), as well as at the Kanevskaya forum , company representatives also said that their WiMAX will work in the range of 2 5 - 2.7 GHz,and that the company plans to cover small cities in many regions of Russia; in particular, in the Krasnodar Territory in 2010 it is planned to launch networks in 12 settlements: in the first half of the year - in Kanevskaya, in the second half of the year the city ​​of Kropotkin, the city of Anapa, the city of Gelendzhik, the city of Tuapse, the city of Temryuk, the city of Khadyzhensk, the village White Clay, the village of Kushchevskaya, the village of Pavlovskaya, the village of Otradnaya, the village of Aleksandrovka (Yeisk district).

In Kanevskaya, the test operation will begin in February (the first base station will be organized on the tower of the local television center ), the commercial launch will begin in mid-spring. Prices, unfortunately, are not yet known.
