Google will release a new version of Android

    Google confirmed the imminent release of the Android 2.x OS update and even revealed the codename of the new system. Eric Zen, a senior Android product manager, told The Engadget Show in an interview that the update is called Froyo - shortened frozen yogurt (“frozen yogurt.” The name is in the tradition of Android’s previous dessert names - Donut for version 1.6 and Eclair "For 2.0.

    The company has not yet said anything about the characteristics of the new operating system, but it is known that Google names truly iconic products as “sweet” names. More detailed information about Google’s news is usually disclosed no earlier than a few months before the release. Version 2.0 was supplemented by a new web browser and voice recognition function, version 2.1 - animated screensavers. Up to now, updates have been released at intervals of about six months.

    Perhaps one of the first devices with a new axis will be Alex - an electronic book based on Android with two screens.
