FIX: the picture shows a comparison of the Nexus One and Motorola Droid! (For the iPhone there was no such clear comparison).

In comparison with the popular Android-communicators Motorola Droid and Samsung Galaxy , the “ google phone ” wins in a number of parameters, including speed and usability . However, how good is the new device in relation to the iPhone 3GS ?

Nexus One is made in a thinner body(11.5 vs 12.3 mm) and weighs a little less (130 vs 135 grams). The back panel of the case does not look cheap plastic (although it resembles a case from glasses, as already said on the hub), however, it is not as smooth as the iPhone . The overall design experience is only positive.

Thanks to the AMOLED screen, color saturation and black depth exceed those of the iPhone display . The diagonal of the screen and its resolution is greater: 3.7 versus 3.5 inches and 480x854 versus 320x480 pixels.

Perhaps the main “iron” argument of Nexus One is its 1-GHz Qualcomm QSD8250 processor versus the 833-MHz Samsung S5PC100 ARM Cortex-A8 processor in the iPhonewhose clock frequency is reduced to 600 MHz.

In the speed of loading web pages, Nexus One is ahead of all competitors. In tests of processing JavaScript scripts, Nexus One loses 60% on iPhone and Droid , and Safari mobile browser on iPhone 3GS shows better results than Nexus, although in practice the Googlephone opens pages faster. Backgroundnot just animated, it also has the ability to interact interactively with the user: for example, the “water” theme when touched with a finger reacts with corresponding ripples. There is every reason to believe that the background is capable of interacting with applications.

The built - in 5-megapixel camera with LED flash does not differ in any outstanding characteristics from its own kind. Autofocus is activated by a trackball. Finger-touch focusing, as implemented in the iPhone 3GS , is not.

Lack of multi-touch controlin the browser and Google Maps is explained, rather, not by technical capabilities, but by some legal considerations, since many Android phones support multi-touch capabilities at the hardware level.

Playing music with the built-in speakers is good, but not impressive.

As for the conclusions: it is difficult to say anything until no one was holding it, but the Nexus looks much more interesting than iPhon and justifies the price.

The Googlephone can now be turned in virtual hands .
