SpamAssassin 3.3.0 is scheduled for release on January 15, 2010.
After a year and a half of development, the SpamAssassin antispam development team plans to launch a new version in January 2010.
There are a lot of changes in the new version, but mainly they concern an extended set of rules, as well as optimization of the project code for more dynamic updating of rules.
Main changes:
- filtering rules are excluded from the basic delivery. All new rules are loaded using sa-update
- Removed the use of MAIL :: DomainKeys and MAIL :: SPF :: Query modules
- The AWL module now does not load by default. You must additionally include it in the configuration file.
- Work in Perl versions 5.6. * And below is not supported. Recommended versions 5.8.8, 5.8.9, 5.10.1
- DKIM plugin is now able to understand and verify digital signatures of domain keys.
- Added timeout for the work of connected plugins, the default is 300 seconds. If the plug-in does not respond, it accurately shoots itself and the verification continues as usual.
- Added the ability to exclude unnecessary sections from debugging information (include everything at once and then exclude unnecessary ones)
- Added full IPv6 support for various lists (AWL, trusted_networks, etc.)
- Added a bunch of new rules and checks for the content of mail messages.
You can start testing now. The version is quite stable and most likely there will be no major changes to the release.
