Little android miracle

I was not going to buy myself another phone at all. I just walked past and my eyes caught on the design of the device. Just the style I like. It seems he is considered "Asian" by professionals. Of course, I understand that my taste is old-fashioned, but I like it and that's it. And when I took the device in my hands and started playing with it, for a long time I could not believe my eyes. A real Android worked on this rather small wick.

I knew that this company does not manufacture its devices, but sells OEM under its own brand. I already had a pretty pleasant experience using their simple phones. They select really high-quality models from different manufacturers, perfectly prepare them for sale and support them. The model was completely new, the sellers did not know it very well, but it was difficult not to believe that there was a real Android inside, which, moreover, worked pretty well.

I already stroked towards Android, and then there is a chance to get experience communicating with him, moreover, on a communicator for the price of a smartphone (a little over $ 200). Well, a sin to refuse. And I did not refuse. Therefore, this reviewer will not only be about the device, but also some impressions about Android in general.

Already at home, climbing on the system settings, I found where the legs grow. This hardware base is listed under the name "Brava" and even released in some places under this brand. I never got the full information, what kind of hardware is there and what its characteristics are, but I don’t really need it. The system works quite lively and without any jams that regularly haunted me on the rather powerful HTC Touch HD, and that’s enough for me. I do not want to dwell on boring technical specifications, especially since today even the “yellow” equipment is at a good level for these indicators. Just a bare listing of what I found:

    - GSM 900/1800/1900
    - GPRS / EDGE
    - Wi-Fi
    - BlueTooth (stereo)
    - Marvell 624 MHz
    - 256MB flash + 128MB DDRAM
    - WQVGA, LTPS, 260K, 3.0 ", 240x400
    - Photo 3.2 megapixels
    - Video
    - FM radio
    - Micro SD up to 16 gig
    - Motion Sensor
    - Li-ion 1200 mAh, 220/7 h
    - 110 x 55 x 13.5 mm
    - 106. The

device, as I said, is quite small, almost the same size as my old love Sony Ericsson M600i, only a little longer, but thinner. Much smaller and lighter than Touch HD. All-glass front panel with a dark gray mirror surface from the inside (except for the screen area) Three buttons of the same color resemble hematite. The back cover of the battery compartment is also one-piece on the entire case. It is made of plastic, but the paint imitates anodized brown aluminum. The ends are made of ordinary brown plastic. It turns out that three colors close in tone and three textures of the material are used in the case. This is probably not entirely traditional, but I generally like it.

The camera in the phone has a fairly average 3.2 megapixels. In general, the cameras in the phone interest me in the last place (if at all). But for this review, I took test shots and it turned out that the camera is not the most miserable.

A mysterious stub appeared in one of the corners of the telephone. Due to the fact that at my request, the dear saleswoman, with her strong nails, tore this plug with traces of glue from the display case, I did not have to do this with mine. I confirm - a stub and nothing more. Since the touchscreen in this model is capacitive and does not react in any way to extraneous stylus-shaped objects, I dare to assume that this is the place for a telescopic antenna. Probably, the case was originally developed for one of the kichevy models “2 SIM cards + TV”.

Android pleased me with its functionality. As I already noticed, the speed of work quite suited me. A huge plus that struck me was the complete sharpening of the interface under the finger and without a joystick. In my last Touch HD, in spite of all the “finger” bells and whistles on top of the usual Windows Mobile, here and there glitches popped up when you can’t do anything without a joystick or you can’t get a finger. Plus, a known problem with the lack of a hardware keyboard in some programs. In Android, everything is perfectly designed for finger control without a joystick. In addition, in the features of the device appears "Full touch lens". I have no idea what it is, but after working for a while, I start to guess, it means that you can poke thick sausages on the screen, but it will clearly identify and focus the center of touch. Because of this effect, by the way, I had to relearn the way to work on the on-screen keyboard compared to the same Touch HD. It was unusual and uncomfortable at first, the dialing speed dropped sharply, but grasping the other essence of the sensor, everything went much better.

I cannot but mention the on-board browser called “Browser”. All that Opera Mini has been proud of for so long is modestly surpassed. The most important feature is javascript, it works with a bang. I don’t know how fully it is supported, but I had two sites necessary for work that I couldn’t work with from Opera Mini, but here they worked very well. By the way, the opera didn’t start on the first attempt, but I didn’t tinker with it, since the game is not worth the candle.

True, I decided to try Steel. It started, but with a big "but." Android has solved the problem with the lack of a hardware keyboard so that when you click on one of the buttons (medium, long), the on-screen keyboard pops up on the screen. Moreover, regardless of whether there are fields for text input on the screen or not: “You asked, it’s for you!”. (Of course, it appears automatically when focusing on the text field, but this is another way for every fireman.) So in Style I entered the address bar, but the keyboard did not appear. I tried to call it on purpose, but it turned out that this click in the Style is blocked (why?). Everything else works, but you can’t dial the site address.

What struck me unpleasantly (thank God not on the phone) is the official Android site. The collection of applications and the site’s functionality is so poor that I can’t believe that this is a Google product. Moreover, on obvious requests, little is generally found for Android. Only indirectly I somehow went to the site www.SlideMe.com , which found a more or less interesting collection of applications for Android. True, this site was half non-functional (what kind of attack on Android?). I did not immediately consider a 2 gig micro SD card that was given to me as a gift with the device. It turned out that she was stuffed with various applications, music, clips and wallpapers. I had a solid collection under my nose that wasn’t even dreamed of on the official Google site.

In general, the impression of my acquisition is more than positive. I’m practically delighted. I made this device my main one and it has remarkably replaced Touch HD. He has a smaller screen, but because of the excellent font rendering, everything is readable and there is no loss. In addition, he is not so small, at least more than the M600i, which I have not parted with for so long because of its Most Convenient Keyboard in the World. In fact, it combines all the best of these two samples. It is compact, lightweight, functional and modern. He doesn’t stick out of his pocket, but at the same time I can solve it remotely with all those tasks that were assigned to more “solid” models. So I want to congratulate myself on the acquisition.
