WikiGoogle Comments: Useful Posts and New API Features

  • From RSS
Ekaterina Gubchik, Google Product Specialist

Since we launched the Google Wiki function about two months ago, users all over the world, including Russian ones, have added a lot of valuable comments.

Here are just a few examples:
  • Did you drink coffee in a nice place? Tell others about it, as Dmitry Barashev did by writing a comment about the Gourmet coffee shop.
  • Did you find an interesting online diary on the Internet? Add your review as Yuri did.
  • Still in doubt about using comments? Follow the advice of Peter Udintsev.

If you haven’t used WikiComments yet, you can download this feature on google.com/sidewiki as part of the Google Toolbar for Firefox or Internet Explorer. If you use Google Chrome, Safari, and other browsers without the Google Toolbar, just set the Sidewiki bookmark by dragging the “Sidewiki” rectangle directly from the help article into the bookmark bar of your browser.

We also launched the most requested feature for our API, which gives you the opportunity to get Wiki Comments for the entire domain. With this functionality, you can easily find new posts created on any page of your site, as well as subscribe to them via the RSS feed. See our Sidewiki API documentation(in English.).

Find out what others are saying about online sites right now, and share your thoughts with the world!

We look forward to interesting and useful entries and will keep you updated on the latest developments.
