Half a billion for advertising: is it a lot or a little?
Apple published financial statements on Tuesday (Form 10-K ) and the exact amount spent on advertising in fiscal 2009 became known: $ 501 million.
Half a billion dollars seems like a lot, but for Apple it's not that much. That is, it is clear that advertising costs are included in the price of the goods and we, buyers, pay them. But the same Microsoft advertising budget is much larger in both absolute and relative terms.
