Athlon II X4: the cheapest quad-core

AMD has already noted interesting budget products this year. For example, an inexpensive and technologically advanced dual-core Athlon II X2. Now we are talking about four cores and the launch of the Athlon II X4 series.

At first glance, there is nothing special about the Athlon II X2. It will not hide from close attention that the new product is the same Phenom II, however, without a third-level cache. Nevertheless, the 45-nm process technology, compatibility with the new AMD 785G chipset, and support for the 4000 MHz HyperTransport interface are counted.

So far, two chips have entered the Athlon II X4 line - AMD Athlon II X4 620 and 630 with a frequency of 2.6 and 2.8 GHz, respectively. The first costs less than $ 100, the second is slightly more expensive - $ 112.
