SpringSource acquired CloudFoundry, Terracotta hired Ehcache developer

    As conversations about the purchase of SpringSource by VMware stopped before the CloudFoundry company joined these two "daughters" of EMC . It provides hosting services for Java applications on the Amazon EC2 platform, providing a configured CentOS + Apache HTTPD + Apache Tomcat + MySQL + Hyperic bundle and a Web interface for monitoring and managing applications. Part of the project is available as OpenSource . Along with the recent drop in prices for reserved EC2 servers, hosting for Spring, Grails and other Java applications is becoming more accessible.

    Another OpenSource company Terracotta , which develops and maintains a library for distributed caching of Java applications (in particular Spring, Hibernate), has hired an Ehcache developer and now plans to integrate this library into its project.
