A few months ago, talking about the plug-in market for commercial CMS , I mentioned in passing the “builds” of open site management systems. Despite the fact that I worked with many (behind my back a large number of projects of various sizes on SharePoint, Bitrix, Yumi, Wordpress, Drupal, several “studio” and simply self-written systems), most of all, despite my gluttony, I like Drupal. Therefore, I will simply list a few interesting assemblies on it designed for various tasks.

Acquia

Perhaps the most famous assembly today, developed under the leadership of Dris Baitaert himself . Acquia Drupal is a CMS Drupal distribution complemented by modules developed by the Drupal community and Acquia employees. In addition to the distribution itself, there is an Acquia Network service and commercial support . The main scope of Acquia - the creation of "social" sites. Acquia is so popular that even Microsoft recommends it (however, like several other CMS, such as Wordpress). Offer the installation of this system and individual hosters. DrupalCampLA

This assembly is essentially a site designed for the DrupalCampLA conference. The developers simply described the process and uploaded the result (note that the design will have to be supplemented - the graphics are not included in the theme). So, if you are preparing some kind of barkamp or conference, this assembly can be an excellent solution, allowing you to suggest a number of interesting ideas and significantly reduce the time to develop a site.

Open atrium

Open Atrium is a good solution for building a corporate intranet. In the kit there is a large amount of functionality - a blog, wiki, calendars, task lists, etc. I remember that in the spring I made a similar decision for one company, but here we have a great option, working out of the box and at the same time free. Yes, there are a sufficient number of solutions with great functionality, but a) is it always really necessary? b) what is the cost of the solution? c) it is Drupal, an open system that you can freely expand.
