Habr update

    Hello.

Today we have perhaps the most significant update since the launch of the new Habr: we finally redid almost everything that did not suit us or simply did not really like it. Namely: the

    "Hat" of the site The
old hat was fed up with the order, and the navigation piece ("blogs" / "people" / "companies", etc.) located in it caused some confusion, although everyone was used to it. Now all the navigation is collected in one place, the logo has moved to the center, and the information in the account block has become more austere, but more convenient: for example, to find out the rest of the votes for karma and comments you don’t have to wait for the alt to appear in the “airship”, which now also became part of the story. Everything flows, everything changes.

    Section "Blogs"
This is my favorite innovation. From now on, several hundred blogs are divided into several categories and equipped with convenient search. Adding new blogs we will include later. Around the same time, the profile of the blog, as well as the ranking of blogs, will change its appearance: it will be calculated a little differently than now.

    User Profile
Changes are more cosmetic. Removed the arrows for voting for karma in your profile, grouped actions like “write a letter” and “add to friends” in the drop-down menu, changed the place for outputting tweets.

    Karma
No, they didn’t do anything with karma, but as an experiment, they placed an arrow next to the user's nickname titled “Yes, I want to put a plus sign in karma to this wonderful person for writing such a useful topic!” This was done in order to slightly correct the balance, which is biased towards the minuses due to some features of human psychology. Next to the comments of this arrow will not be soon, remove.

    Miscellaneous
The rest of the changes are minor. In particular, the styles of links in some places have changed, the appearance of the Live broadcast block has slightly changed, the paginator has become a bit more elegant, well, and a few more minor changes that it makes no sense to mention.

And yes, we decided to postpone something special for some time.

And further. I perfectly understand that many are accustomed to the past look and consider innovations a little less terrible than the apocalypse. And some are so inclined to consider such changes as "the beginning of the end." Do not worry so much. This is just a habit: six months will pass and most of you will forget how Habr looked in the summer of 2009. In addition, the header or color of links does not make Habru worse or better, but content .

PS: during the day, some bugs and other shaitan processes can be observed, which are better urgently reported to the support, rather than in the comments. Thanks.
