An easy way to organize video surveillance

Sometimes there is a need to monitor what is happening at home, but there is no desire to install expensive equipment or tinker with setting up complex software. For example, you left the child alone at home or builders do minor repairs, you are interested in what your favorite dog / cat does in your absence.
To solve this problem, you just need a computer on the other side, a webcam and Skype.

The usage pattern is as follows: we call home Skype and he automatically picks up the phone and starts the video broadcast. Everything is extremely simple.

For those who do not know how to set up Skype in this way - the instruction:

• First you need to register a new Skype-login, install Skype itself and connect the webcam to the computer in the observed location. This process, I think, does not need to be described. We need a new login because Skype on the other side should only receive calls from you , unless, of course, you want anyone to watch your home.
• Add your main login (from which you will call) to the contact list of the new home account.
• We go into the Skype settings and on the “Calls” tab -> “Call settings” we allow to receive calls only from your contact list, also check the boxes “Automatically answer incoming calls” and “Automatically start video broadcasting during a call”.

All :). Now you can see what happens at home simply by calling from the main account to your home account.

Upd. The method allows you to observe from any place where there is Internet and skype. It is also more intended for fun than for real observation.
