Internet development in Russian regions - latest statistics

    Yandex has published recent statistics on the development of the Internet in the regions of the Russian Federation.

    Key figures :
    • The average speed of Internet access in the Russian Federation is 410 Kbps. In Moscow and St. Petersburg - about 7000 Kbps;
    • The semi-annual audience of Runet in the fall of 2008 amounted to more than 34 million people - this is 30% of the Russian population aged 18 years and older;
    • The most expensive Internet among major Russian cities is in the cities of the Far East (1988 rubles / month for 512 Kbps). The cheapest - in Moscow (75 rubles / month for 512 Kbps);
    • In the regions, 33% of the domains in the .RU zone are registered - 13% more than a year ago.
