Q4wine - an Qt4 GUI for Wine
We all use or used the Wine program to run windows applications. But unfortunately, Wine, unlike the commercial counterparts CrossOver and Cedega, does not have a GUI for managing applications (winecfg is a bit wrong). Q4wine is designed to close this gap.
So what Q4wine can do:
I note that this is sometimes necessary when the game "slows down", sometimes it helps :).
You can import and export prefixes:
For each prefix, you can configure:
- Substitution dll-ok from Wine
- The path to the executable files and libraries Wine (i.e. you can use several versions of this free implementation of WinApi)
A similar feature is in Cedega, it is needed so that you can install the game from a disk image:
You can install DirectX and other necessary components through Setup -> System Software -> Run Winetricks

PS: Do not scold strongly, this my first topic. He is an overview, step-by-step guide on tuning and installing applications I will write later.

Naturally, run Windows-programs through Wine with the replacement of the DLL and some other goodies, for example, launching on another X-server:
Manage Wine processes (terminate, change priority):
