For the long-awaited update of our mail service, we have agreed with Google to provide the UE "Reliable Programs" service Google Apps. For you, this means that, starting in April, all 1.7 million mailboxes registered on TUT.BY will gradually be transferred to the Google Mail mail service throughout 2009.

As a result, our users will receive a modern, highly reliable service that is much better protected from spam, with a huge mailbox, new options for searching, marking and sorting letters, etc.

“Replacing the mail system is a long-awaited step and a logical continuation of TUT.BY's technological policy. One of our main principles is the acquisition of the best programs on the market and our own development only if there are none. The current mail engine was, at the time of acquisition in 2000, the best professional mail system in the world. However, at the moment, Gmail features are better suited for users. At the same time, Google Apps is American software, as well as our current engine, and like Microsoft Windows / Office, which is used by most Belarusians. The complexity of developing a similar product on its own is dozens of man-years, after which no one will need the software, ”said TUT.BY Technical Director Denis Otvalko.

A week before the transfer of the box, we will notify you personally by e-mail. On your part, no efforts will be required for migration - all your correspondence and folders will be transferred automatically and saved unchanged.

Those with whom you correspond will not notice anything. After the transfer, your mailbox will still be called <you> @ tut.by!
