LG Electronics has announced the launch of the new BE08LU and BE08LS drives, each of which can record Blu-ray discs at the highest speed today - 8x.
The internal model BE08LU is equipped with a Serial ATA interface, while the BH08LS can connect to a PC via USB. By technical specifications, both new products are identical: recording 25- and 50-GB discs at 8x, BD-RE - 2x, support for LightScribe technology and, of course, the ability to record DVD and CD.
