Social networks are more popular than email

Five years ago, e-mail was the main occupation of Internet users, it was a leader by a wide margin, overtaking information search, reading news, and ordinary surfing. Very quickly, everything turned upside down.

Now, according to Nielsen , e-mail in the general list of the most popular activities on the PC has dropped to fifth place, giving way to search, portals and conventional software. Moreover, now it is inferior even to social networks and blogs, whose active audience has grown to 67% of Internet users.

Most of all, Brazilians like to communicate on social networks (Orkut leads with 70% of the market there).
