Introducing jabber bots

I'll start with the historically first bot and the section of bots related to it: with dictionaries and translators.
The first bot, JID (jabber id), which I accidentally found was
er@translate.jrudevels.org
The point is simple - send him a word or phrase in English, and he tries to translate it into Russian, but the result is not always successful. For instance:
[00:34:18] Dark Dimius this is an example of the translation made by the bot er@translate.jrudevels.org
[00:34:19] English-Russian это - пример перевода, сделанного личинкой er@translate.jrudevels.org
On jrudevels.org there are many different dictionaries-translators, and many are “familiar” with the Russian language, which is good news.
However, if I need a dictionary, then I prefer bots, which can be found at the "main" dict@darkmachine.org
[00:37:55] Dark Dimius !help
[00:37:56] dict@darkmachine.org !list - dictionaries list
!stat - show statistics

As you can see, the list is really impressive. But these are only dictionaries, not translators. They translate only words. For instance:[18:10:04] Dark Dimius словарь
[18:10:05] en-ru@darkmachine.org

Also worth noting are the translators of the @ bot.talk.google.com , Google family of translators . But this family offers only two translators familiar with the Russian language: Russian-English and English-Russian.
Now let's talk about information bots.
gism.portal-on.ru is a convenient transport that sends the user weather with gismeteo.ru . For example, 27612@gism.portal-on.ru - the weather in Moscow. Here is a good description.
Any message is answered by weather
jabrss@cmeerw.net - a bot that collects RSS news and sends them to the user. For instance:
[00:58:56] Dark Dimius subscribe habrahabr.ru/rss
[00:58:59] JabRSS You have been subscribed to habrahabr.ru/rss
After that, I immediately received news that I can’t post, since there are a lot of them. The bot is made very well, when you add it to the contact list, it sends its own description. A list of commands with a description can be found here .
The next, easy-to-execute bot is the whois query execution bot - whois@swissjabber.ch . Send him the address - get a response.
Further, the bot that I really liked is a convenient program for telecasts: tv.on@portal-on.ru . At this address you can find a good guide to it.
Now I will list useful bot services:
addurl@clck.ru - Link shortener .
Just add it to the bot roster and send it a long link. In response, we get a short link.
presence.jabberfr.org - Status display service.
We go to the review of services on it, register. After that, go to the presence.jabberfr.org website . Enter your JID, select the type of display.
The resulting link can be added to your signature on the forums and services.
Now everyone can see your status. Example: my status

disk.jabbim.cz is a jabber service for storing files up to 100 MB. Here you will find a description. The Jabber service consists of three bots: the first provides public access to files (with a web link), the second - personal storage, the third - a photo album immediately uploading pictures to the site.
And the last, the most “delicious” bot imified@imified.com
This is a bot, a personal information manager that can be expanded with widgets (I would call them plugins). To activate the widget, go to the “My Account” menu section, sending “4”. Widgets contain everything that your heart desires: a blogger
posting widget from jabber. blogging on twitter and jaiku at the same time. They also separately have postings ( Twitter , Jaiku ) posting in LiveJournal posting in Wordpress . a set of network utilities ... ping, traceroute, etc. And also more than 20 widgets.
The bots that interested me the most are described above. I will be glad to know from the community about other bots that I have not met.
Update 1 Shortening links ( addurl@clck.ru ) seems to have stopped working, at least for me.
Update 2 Decent replacement found
