OpenBSD on my laptop

Having waited for the appearance of free time (in connection with the New Year), I finally decided to finally deal closely with my not-so-old acquisition, namely the Samsung R25 plus laptop, I won’t give it a detailed description, those interested will find in the Great Book of the Googel of All Plananda, in short this is a small 14-inch box with ati video.

But we continue, tired of ourselves with the preinstalled Vista Home Premium, I finally decided to install some of the * NIXs in order to return to my long-standing desktop life with ArchLinux (I was already used to the delights of FVWM and others like it)
After listening to the horrors that how Linux behaves improperly on laptops I waved it all at once and decided to install quite fresh OpenBSD 4.4 on it (deciding what to do /// to, so to /// to).
I chose the architecture (stop flash, stop vine ;-)) to cut AMD64 unrighteous toys, cut off the DVD-image and OooOoO, Great Reboot, Give Me Strength!
The first, bsd.rd “froze” at the rd0 stage, googling it shortly found that all that is required during the installation is to cut down the ACPI. “They decided on this” (c)
We installed, rebooted, loaded the kernel with support for multi-core ...
    ...
    ...
    ??? WTF ???
Equipment! pound, equipment showed up! And that's all! (the only thing with bluetooth is not clear because it wasn’t used under Windows either, so hands won’t get tested)
But in more detail, WiFi - plows (Atheros AR5424)
    LAN - plows (Realtek 8139, even if it didn’t plow =) )
    sound, touchpad, everything plows.
LITTLE OF! Even Fn-keys plow, “the screen turns off”, switches between external and internal, Wifi - similarly.

Well, and then, in fact, everything is familiar and in the spirit of a “tightly regulated community”
X -configure (radeon driver kindly entered me)
Fvwm (which I decided to replace with ion3 this time)
and then down the list of ports =)

PS So those who consider that BSD - RIP is wrong =)

upd. Well, this is the same thing, but from the outside =) It turned out very brilliantly like that =))) thanks to the glare =)
