Save the blog at blogger.com

    This note has two parts:
    1. How strange it sometimes happens (details of blocking a blog due to incorrect operation of anti-spam scripts on Google blogger.com),
    2. How to save your blog if nothing helps (if a clean block has not been unlocked for a long time )

    So what is the problem?
Turning to the search engines with the question “If you do not request a review, the blog will be deleted within 20 days”, you can make sure that so many have ever received such a message from the automatic blocking system of suspicious blogs. The meaning of this action is understandable: a large number of bad blogs are blocked, and a small number of good ones that accidentally suffered, will be "bleached" in manual mode. If the operators work quickly, then no one will have difficulties.

The full message looks like this:

This blog has been blocked due to a possible violation of the Blogger Terms of Service. You will not be able to post new posts until the blog is reviewed and unlocked. If you do not request a review, the blog will be removed within 20 days.

I received such a message on December 4 (18 days ago), immediately requested an unlock (I clicked on the appropriate link + entered the captcha correctly), but I still can’t write to the blog. Now, if I click on the “request a review” link, I see the kind text “We received your request for unlocking December 4, 2008 ... On behalf of all the robots, we apologize for blocking your blog. Bear with it a little while we look through your blog and make sure that there is no spam in it. ”

All this means that Google’s operators do not always work fast (18 days have passed!). It is clear that Google is not required to immediately correct the errors of its scripts. By the way, in this case we are talking about a mistake, because the blog is perfectly clean: it has only its own texts, no schemes for obtaining or selling links, no advertising (of course, the blog is not for making money). In addition, there is activity of commentators and generally not the smallest number of subscribers (450-500), which once again confirms the meaningfulness of the blog (it is one of the ten most popular on the blogspot engine by Yandex rating). Therefore, I wanted more quick actions (it was possible to sort blocked blogs by the number of subscribers in order to process the most popular ones first).

But while I honestly waited for unlocking, another problem got out. It turns out that the blog almost disappeared from the indexes of all search engines, so the number of visitors fell from 150-200 per day to 30-50). It turned out that this is due to the fact that a blocked blog cannot be indexed by search engines (special lines for this appeared in the robots.txt file). I repeat that this trouble is not big either, because the blog does not show ads and I have no obligations to anyone, but again it’s not pleasant enough.

But enough of the bad, because nothing has been lost yet. Now there will be the promised part with the answer to the question " what to do? "

So, if it is not possible to use the engine from google anymore, because there are no rights to create posts, and readers' access to old notes is difficult, then you can transfer the blog to your server. So the question arose: what is the easiest way to pull out all the notes and comments on them? After all, having done this, you can write your own script that would upload the old notes to the new engine.

I didn’t want to write my parcel, so I used the BlogBackupOnline.com service, which quickly and free of charge generated an xml file with all already published blog entries + all comments. Surely there are dozens of similar programs, but this service was the first to complete the task. By the way, I recommend that all bloggers periodically keep the blog a similar service, so as not to lose the accumulated interesting material due to a hoster failure. UPD Thanks to Karguine, who advised you on a statutory method for exporting blogs - go to draft.blogger.com/export-blog.g?blogID=XXXXXX (here should be a blog number).

In a few days it will become clear whether Google will delete this blog (about 20 days from the promise to delete it will take place), and you will not have to wait for the unlock during the holidays. If for the whole of December there was no person who looked at the blog, then in the New Year weeks all the more so you should not hope for that.

    There are two
morals : 1. Always make backups (this is such moral in all aspects of life :-).
    2. If you are doing some kind of anti-spam mechanism, then try to sort incoming applications for transfer to the white list according to the size of the banned one (in order to quickly solve the problems of more serious people first).

    There are also two questions:
Have you heard of such long locks? Was it somehow possible to win?
