Typos Correction Mechanism Concept

    Participating in any discussions on the Internet, very often you come across the fact that it is forbidden to edit your own comments on the resource. Obviously, this is due to the fact that no one could refuse the spoken words. But sometimes, editing a comment is required not to hide varying degrees of shameful text, but simply to correct the stupid typos that everyone makes.

    Sometimes, when typing quickly, you can confuse a couple of keys, mix up the order, forget the letter, well, plus there are other minor typos that are familiar to everyone. There are grosser errors, but they are often explained not by the author’s illiteracy, but by many other factors. Here then a typo correction mechanism would come in handy. Below under the cut, I would like to present my simple concept, which, in my opinion, is applicable on any resource.

    Take a look at the drawing. Common situation? A few commonplace and insulting typos. The author is ashamed, but often he just can not do anything. I suggest introducing a one-time typo correction mechanism. Let, for example, it is called by the button "Correct typos". By clicking this button, the author gets a one-time opportunity to correct the text, removing all errors.

    However, the result obtained will not be just text, it will be a text similar to the following:

    With this solution:
    • the user gets the opportunity to edit typos, and even gross errors, finely edit the text;
    • we do not lose the original author’s text, the author will not be able to hide anything;
    • we see that the author is a competent person who tries to follow his text and corrects errors, if any;
    • the resulting option will be weak, but to teach others how to write correctly, showing an example on the main mistakes.

    UPD : according to the results of the discussion, I thought: it is possible to display a fully corrected version without graphic corrections, and by pressing a special button (link) to show in the form in which it is proposed in the second figure: with graphic corrections.

    In my opinion, a completely viable mechanism, but what will the venerable public say? Let's discuss.
