Netbooks are no longer cheap?

Once again interested in netbooks (subnotebooks) , I decided to see what is new in stores. I live in Ukraine, so I will call our prices.

So ... what was on the shelves two months ago, that’s what it is. But it lies with a huge difference in price! If the subnote from Acer cost about 2200-2400 UAH ($ 400), now they are priced at 3500-4000 UAH ($ 400). And the very first Asus eeepc 701 from the price of 1500-1700UAH ($ 300) jumped to 3000-3300 ($ 600)! These are just unrealistic prices for “cheap” computers. For such a price you can buy a good system unit home.

Then I decided to see what is happening in the market of online stores. And how surprised I was when I saw almost the same prices there as in real stores. Yes, the prices in dollars didn’t seem to change ... As MSI Wind u100 cost about $ 450, it’s worth it. But they bought them at 4.8 - 5 UAH per dollar, and now they are writing a course - 7.9 UAH per dollar. That is - the price out of the blue has doubled. And now the main question of the topic - why should people buy netbooks in such a situation? If earlier they were really cheaper than desktop PCs and large laptops, now these devices are for whom?
