    You will need files from the original Fallout 2!



    The archive includes:
    - FOnline.exe (game executable file);
    - FOnlineDx9.exe (+ d3dx9_38.dll, the same as the previous paragraph, only rendering is performed using Direct3D9, also this version is deprived of a still not fixed bug with incorrect folding of the client in full screen mode);
    - Mapper.exe (+ Mapper_ReadMe.txt, a program for creating maps for the game, posted for review, the archive already has two maps map1, map2);
    - Manual_Ru.pdf (a guide to the game, in Russian and English, it is advisable to read before the game);
    - Manual_En.doc (manual in English, unfortunately this is an old version, with some important notes at the end of the document)
    - New music tracks;
    - Animation for children (some game distributions do not have them);
    - Other files.

    If, in the game, when connecting, you received the error “Wrong version of the network protocol.”, Then look at this page, there will be a patch that will need to be downloaded and unpacked into the client’s folder.

    Client installation:

    Unzip the archive to any place convenient for you.
    Run FOConfig.exe. In the program, set the paths to master.dat and critter.dat (or you can just copy these files to the folder of the unpacked client), also look at other settings (if you have questions about the purpose of this or that option, then look in the FOnline.cfg file , their brief descriptions are given there).
    Copy the contents of the “Fallout2 \ data \ sound \ music \” folder from the original Fallout2 to the “FOnline \ data \ sound \ music \” FOnline folder. If you do not, then the game will not have original music.
    There you can enter the address of the game server, the default address is entered in the archive, but it can change, or new ones can be added, the current state of the server (s) can be found in this topic: (Servers)
    Run FOnline.exe or FOnlineDx9.exe .

    To give the test some meaningfulness, the following game was invented: Holding Bases.

    The essence of the game is as follows:


    There are three bases Sierra, Mariposa, Cathedral. At each location, at the last level, there is a terminal with which you can subordinate the base to one of the organizations (BS or Enclave). In return, they will be every playing day (the time in the game has been increased by 12 times), at 12.00 to bring various objects (weapons, ammunition, armor, tools ...) to the building’s entrance, only the player who got in touch can access them with organization. The following parameters are reflected in the statistics (Pip-Boy -> Status -> Statistics): Current base owner, Best base owner (kept the base most of all), Base ownership (which base belongs to which organization), Most preference (to which players subordinate more than once base). I hope this game diversifies the process of hanging out in the game.

    Some useful notes:

    Regarding the resolution of the game window - it can have an arbitrary shape within: width 640 - 1280, height 480 - 1024, the maximum limits are set in connection with fitting the minimum size of cards for it.
    At the start of the game you will be given a walkie-talkie, how to use it, you can read in the manual.
    Do not forget about the F1 key in the game, there you can see statistics on the used traffic and hot keys in the game.
    Remember that all items remaining in the encounter, when you exit it, are completely removed from the game. Store items in jars with Hubbologists.
    Do not forget to top up the replication account in time, so as not to be in a special location for non-payers.
    Pip-Boy has added player achievement statistics.
    The music is currently downloading as a whole, which slows down the download and adds an extra 30-40 megabytes of RAM, so if a few seconds or a lack of RAM are critical for you, turn off the music (you can leave only music, sounds).
