Web 4.0 - Internet of Things

imageI like the sound of Web Two-Zero. There is something underground about it. Metro-2, sensitive cities with the same prefix in the name, comes to mind. Something under the heading "Only for the initiates."

Mem 2.0 arose as a marketing project. Marketing is the juggling of signs and symbols. This is the production of new characters and the substitution of meanings. Each figure, except for mathematical value, contains a cultural meaning. Web 2.0 is not just the next step after Web 1.0, which in turn will be followed by Web 3, 4, 5, etc., but a contrast.

For a Russian-speaking person, Web 2.0 sounds like a “double web”, like something with a “double bottom”. We from the cradle know that there are double standards, written and unwritten laws, official and unofficial sources, etc. and so on. They can not be. If they are not visible, this means someone is hiding them well. And if he hides, therefore, he does not want to share. Web 2.0 is a contrast to the mass Web, the wrong side, the other (number 2) side of the coin.

Web 3.0 also has some kind of semantics. This is the Holy Trinity, and three wishes for the Goldfish and much more, but for the meme to shoot, you need to find something more international and topical. For example, World War III or Third Rome.

And yet, I doubt that Web 3.0 has a chance to become a stamp. The fact is that in 2 years this image has already been managed so much that attempts to give it a decent appearance are unlikely to convince anyone. And do not forget that the troika is both “third world countries” and “third is superfluous”.

However, apparently, the fashion for digital marketing has not yet exhausted itself. And I assume that meme 4.0 has all the chances to enter the media lexicon. And mainly, I thank that, unlike the story from 2.0, this time, in fact, there is a technological breakthrough.

They have been talking about the Internet of Things for a long time, but this phenomenon is beginning to take on a mass character only now, when the consumer has gained access to two-dimensional barcodes , RFIDand other mobile tags.

In the objects of the real world, new properties begin to appear, inaccessible to our senses. For us, these properties are in another - apparently fourth - dimension. This semantic gap can be filled with the concept of Web 4.0.

Web 4.0 will contain the meanings that the poorly translated phrase “ Augmented Reality ” is trying to carry awkwardly today .

It would be interesting to know your opinion.
