The robot copies human facial expressions
Scientists have created a robot that can recognize and reproduce ten facial movements of a person, reports The Telegraph. The robot is called Jules and represents a human head without a body.
Jules is coated with a material that mimics human skin. The camera integrated in the robot is responsible for the recognition of movements. Special software instructs 34 motors that drive the Jules face.
Jules development took 3.5 years. It is assumed that in the future robots created using the same technology as Jules will play the role of home assistants.
Note that robots that imitate humans have been created before. But not one of them could accurately copy facial expressions. Jules, for example, knows how to smile and make faces.
