The company Nvidia today released the first in its line of professional graphics cards equipped with just 4 GB of RAM. The new Quadro FX 5800 is designed for professionals working in the field of 3D-graphics, architects, game designers and video designers. Nvidia claims that the new Quadro FX 5800 is the most powerful graphics card in the world.
" The size and complexity of the data being processed is growing exponentially. For a modern professional, managing such a scale is a real challenge. The new Quadro FX 5800 is designed to solve such problems ," said Jeff Brown, general manager of Nvidia's professional solutions line.

Inside the Quadro FX 5800 is a hardware filling that fully supports CUDA video modeling technology, which offers processing of up to 240 parallel data streams and for the first time in history has 4 gigabytes of RAM for working only with graphics. According to Nvidia, the new card has a peak fill rate of over 52 billion texels per second and geometric performance of 300 billion graphic triangles per second. In order to work at such speeds, the card is equipped with a memory with a peak bandwidth of 102 GB per second.

From a software point of view, Quadro FX 5800 supports OpenGL and Microsoft DirectX 10 applications, while professionals are offered support for the advanced Quadro G-Sync II visualization system. The central processor Quadro FX 5800 supports, not 8-, as usual, but 10-bit color, which allows you to work with several billion colors and their shades.


The software developed by Landmark, GeoProbe R5000, is now ready for the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800, which will allow researchers to provide high-resolution visualization of objects on a regular workstation running Linux.
