Forbidden City Online
A couple of days ago, IBM and Chinese authorities announced the launch of the Beyond Space and Time project , which is a virtual three-dimensional model of the Beijing imperial palace called the Forbidden City.
This is the largest palace complex in the world with a total area of 720 thousand square meters. m, built in 1406-1420, you can now look at without leaving home. In addition to directly studying all 9999 rooms of the palace, “online tourists” will be able to attend the festive dinner of the Qing Emperor, practice archery, train fighting crickets, and try on several historical costumes on their avatar.
No one bothers to communicate with other visitors to the Forbidden City. But running through the halls is prohibited. This can distract guests. ;)
UPD: The software required for tours of the Forbidden City is available in versions for Windows (XP / Vista), Mac OS and Linux.
